J-Horror

The origins of Japanese horror date back from the Heian-Period (794-1185) and are based in folk religion themes such as ghosts ( Yōkai 妖怪), or vengeful ghosts (Yūrei 幽霊), possession.  This genre goes from horror-manga, to horror-anime, and movies. (a)
